For me, at least, it took a couple days to warm to Barcelona. We entered Barcelona with high anticipation while knowing that our trip would be over soon. Toledo was a fun place to set our feet first. Madrid featured amazing museums and an introduction to the tapas culture. Then there was Zaragoza with its traditions and untraditionally brilliant (and inexpensive) food! So the bar was set high by the time we arrived in Barcelona. But the combination of  architecture, history and  food all wrapped in a walkable city center eventually won me. Oh, and then there’s the inside of Gaudi’s 100-year old but still under construction Sagrada Familia—amazing!
